I always thought Cruz' ideologue style just isn't electable.

I'd have to say that I think he did a great job in this interview. Much more personable.

Jorge Ramos is an idiot.

I've never had a problem with Cruz. I see nothing here that he said that either alarms me or hints of domogogary. Ramos, on the other hand, comes across as an ethnocentric idiot. Latino this, Latino that, what about Latinos? Etc. . . Blah, blah, blah. He cannot grasp the simple concept of rule of law because it's antithetical to the issue of illegal immigration. What a buffoon!

He was less smarmy in that interview than normal. He's still not very personable, IMHO. I'd use another word, principled. Of course, his principles are his own and he hasn't demonstrated any ability or desire to listen. He follows only his own agenda and falsely believes he has much greater support than he does. Arrogance? Hubris? Naivety? Take your pick.

Ramos is a mediavocate. He's the preeminent Latino broadcaster. Ramos is the Tom Brokaw to them albeit more of an advocate. Maybe Dan Rathers is a better comparison?

In this interview he's not pandering to the Tea Party. Not that I have anything against those folks, but there has to be more to someone than a hatred of Obamacare.

Ha! That's exactly what I was trying to say. You took the words right out of my mouth.

Wow, Jorge is ridiculously biased and comes across as a bit of a moron. He admits that Mexico aggressively deports anyone in their country illegally but for some reason continues grinding his axe about America doing the same thing.

This is the Ted Cruz I voted for over David Dewhurst. He's a very smart guy with a very strong grasp of policy, and he's a tough advocate. However, too often, he acts like a blowhard who spews toxic rhetoric, and the political and legislative strategies he deploys as a senator are often disastrous.

Jorge Ramos is a throbbing tool, who's downright insane on immigration. I've generally been very hostile to Trump, but I took his side on one thing - his clash with Ramos.

Yeah, but this is different. Mexico deports non Mexicans. The US deports Mexicans. That's unacceptable. That moron is just an unashamed culturally biased blowhard. Anyone who takes him seriously must share the same mental deficiencies and obvious prejudices.

I had a Mexican chick as a paralegal, and she thought it was an outrage that the US would ever deport an illegal immigrant unless they had a violent criminal record. One time TxStateHorn and I took issue with her, and she absolutely threw a **** fit - yelled at us, etc. We eventually dropped it just to keep things calm in the office. She wasn't going to listen to reason at all. At the same time, she defended Mexico's right to deport and even imprison illegal immigrants from Honduras. They don't just don't have a problem with the inconsistency.

The funny irony of it - she came to the US legally. She got a visa and eventually got her permanent residency.
