Deep Eddy Cabaret

So I just moved to the west side and pass by Deep Eddy Cabaret every day. I know its been around forever and has a lot of history. I am curious what to expect from it? I know I should just pony up and head in for a spell, but just wanted to see what the dirt is on it.

It's a dive. Go in and have a beer. Or take a friend and have a pitcher. If you play pool, put a few quarters on the pool table and have a game. As a native Austinite who lived just a few blocks from there for many years, I've been there a lot.

It's a classic neighborhood dive bar. Play some pool and shuffle board. I've always lived closer to the shoe, but I've made it in there a couple of times.

i used to go there because they had the coldest beer in town in the summer. and a great jukebox.

Go there and get drunk, once 2:00am hits go to Magnolia for some queso, and then knock on KasierSoze's door for a place to sleep.

Oh yes, Deep Eddy... have been there hundreds of times and keep going back. This time of year it's part of my Barton Springs routine... walk over to Barton Springs... swim/read/nap for a few hours... then hit Deep Eddy for beer on the walk home.
