Decide where I should live.

So my roommates and I have a lease that is going to expire at the end of June. We are currently in a fairly large townhome off Mopac/Steck.

Anyways, while I won't actually let you decide where I live, some suggestions would be nice. I have lived in pretty much every area of Austin now (except downtown, and while I would love to live there, it's a little bit more than I want to spend).

The only rule I have is not going north of Mopac/183 (I work in West Campus, that's about all the drive I can handle).

I assume still students?

I'm going to stick to shuttle routes -

Enfield Road - Niceish, but still affordableish, close to both downtown and campus. Parking can be a ***** though.

Red River - Lots of variety, but the complexes are mostly older. Close to 35 and the Hancock HEB, which has the best "views"

IF - Again, lots of variety, and a good route. Close to Hyde Park, entral Market, and Hancock HEB. Parking can be tough, but doable.

Cameron Road - Cheaper, but also not as nice in most complexes. I actually live in a house here that is pretty nice, and about a block from the shutle route. Close to Hancock HEB, easy parking.

Hmm, noticed after that post you aren't a student, so you probably don't care about shuttle routes.

I still think that Enfield Road is a good area for you. And maybe even Windsor Park, off of Cameron Road where I live. Not the greatest area, but I've had no problems here in 3 years, and you can rent a whole house relatively affordably.

living downtown is the best decision youll make. I know its a little more pricier but if youre the type that goes out alot youll save alot of money on cabs, parking, etc living down there. Also you usually get a good deal if you dont pre-lease. I lived down there last year for my senior year and we got a great deal, $300/month off rent, because we signed a lease that day.

You live at Lemontreuaux right now?

I have a horrible feeling, that if I'm ever gonna own anything, it's gonna be in the burbs.
