Debt Showdown, Round 10?

I've got a novel idea......How about....you guys spend less money than you did last year. I mean really actually spend less money than you did last year. That might help!

No, that won't work, because they can't buy their voters with cuts. On both sides.

How about instead of furlough of 20% of the work week you have a 10% paycut and call them back to work for 100% of their time. Also a good plan would be to increase the amount of hours required for salaried workers so you can lay off 1% a year more than usual with the unpaid overtime making up the slack.

What company or household reduces their output of customer service or otherwise when they are having budget problems? Generally there is increased expectations from all concerned to help fill in the gaps.

It is as if the 500 Billion to 1.5 Trillion yearly deficits should remain in place since the "cuts" are in the form of temporary furloughs. Where are the actual cuts?

Also, no bonus for any federal employee if there is a budget deficit. No paid food for events or other benefits in kind as long as there is a federal deficit for the previous year.

Everyone goes all in to find ways to save money and be more efficient or they don't get their bonus nor any company(read Fed) dinner, lunch, etc.(not talking about per diem)

Why not all or any of the above?
