Debt Comittee

Not a bad article. Blame all around. I know lots of us predicted this outcome.

One thing that sure would be nice is if there was some way that the debate could have been more transparent (when BO said he would do this I thought it was a great idea). Now both sides just blame the other and, the public, don't really know what was actually discussed.

I have said it a zillion times, but the recomendations of the first debt comittee should be implemented. And we should term these idiots once and for all. Pay some more money for real talent and give them no ability to run again. Maybe they will do what is right as opposed to what keeps them elected.

Transparency is always good. However, when they flat fail to get the job done in times like this then you just have to blame all of the committee members. Congress has failed again.

The committee was designed to fail.

The Demos took cutting any and all entitlements off the table. The Reps took all tax increases off the table. All that was left was to cut defense, which is what's going to happen.

You guys know what these so called cuts are, right?

They use Baseline Budgeting, which means they are cutting the amount that the budget is going to be increased. They are not lowering the amount being spent only the amount of increase in the budget.

Example, if they were going to raise the budget 10% no they are only going to raise the budget 7%.

The media is not telling you what is actually happening, I don't the media even knows. All of this huffing and puffing is a political sideshow.

The problem with spending within Congress is they use Baseline Budgeting vs actual doing the work and using Zero Based Budgeting.

This all or nothing BS is about how they are not going to be able to increase the bugdget in 2013. It is nothing but smoke and mirrors!!! First Politico to come out and say this gets my vote for President!!!

As a political trick, this committee thing worked perfectly. I've been in a lot of organizations where there was the definite willpower and voting power to act RIGHT NOW, and the leadership--who didn't really like the idea--says, "great, we love it, we just need to appoint a committee to implement the idea even stronger and better," and that's the last you ever hear of it.

So, calling the committee a failure, well, that depends on whose tool you saw it as.

Then the great divider comes on TV and blames the GOP. If you don't agree with BHO and his horrible policies then your a do nothing Congress. Without a doubt a do nothing congress is 100% better than allowing Hussein Obama run our country into the ground. Too bad we didn't have a do nothing Congress the first two years of BHO's Presidency before he ran our over debt to $15 trillion.

Time for the Tea Party to really take over the House next year. No more Super Committee's, either true spending cuts or nothing. Taxes rates are at appropriate levels for everyone. Stop increasing the budget, reduce spending and low and behold we will have a yearly budget surplus, it is not rocket science.

Yep, deeply disappointed in the SOTH. We had a chance to do nothing back in August when nothing would have really gotten something done.
