Deauzya “DiDi” Richards (2017 – Cypress, TX) Even though she was only able to participate on Saturday, DiDi left a lasting impression. At 6’1, her length and speed caused numerous match-up problems for opposing defenders. She showed excellent ball handling skills and demonstrated the ability to get to the rim and finish. With her size, speed, and talent, her future is extremely bright.
I am trying to not overreact to the recent excellent results plus the outstanding recruiting news. Ms Richards is the type of player that will just take the speed and skill to another level. With the out-year commitments, it would seem to be a wild ride............if either Ms Holmes or Ms Cox or both committed to the Horns. With Baylor seeming to have already received several post commitments, that most likely takes them out of the running for Holmes/Cox. I was able to see both play in person in the playoffs last year and I can assure you that the No.1 and No. 2 ratings are valid. My Christmas Wish is not for a new Radio Flyer but for those two to commit to the Horns. Then with the others, the next five years or longer would be fun.
Great kid. I have been covering her since she was in the seventh grade. She caught everyone by surprise when she committed this weekend, but this was well deserved. I cover all of Cy fair sports so I will keep you updated as much as I can.
Cy ranch will be playing in a tournament this weekend and I will be there tomorrow to cover the games. After her verbal to the University of Texas she went out and scored 34 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Well that's all for now and I'm really glad she chose to stay here instead of going to UConn (final two choices), all for selfish reasons. Haha ......... hook em
