I've watched some of the games. Mexico has some great pitchers, might be tough to beat. But S.A. would have to get by California again to advance.
San Antonio is the only undefeated U.S. team, I think. Is it true double elimination, where California would have to beat S.A. twice?

MAROON - Is the purpose of pool play at the LLWS to give all the teams a chance to play more than one game on that stage? The playoffs are "one and done" until you get to the LLWS, correct?

Because what we have is the same situation at the CWS under the old format. Should California beat Texas on Saturday, they are actually 1-1, but California wins the Championship.

Torre, that is true. If it were truly double elimination, CA would have to beat SA twice, but that is not the case here. They really should have the winner of each pool (rather than the top two) advance. SA could get screwed in this format.
