Stop being so dam negative about your boys' chances against KU. You absolutely OWN us in Austin. You have just as good a shot as anyone in the country to beat KU tonight. Have some confidence, as Arthur will probably have 2 fouls in 4 minutes of playing time, and you'll have a first half lead.

If our guards can make some 3s...we'll have a chance in the end. Here's to a good game.

Nonetheless, hope the game is competitive and entertaining at the very least.
 
TheCheat, have you seen our team play lately? The last 4 games (and I'm not exagerating), we have spotted teams double-digit leads - including Baylor on our home court.

Sure, anything can happen, but we have simply have not been playing well lately. If we spot you guys that kind of lead, we'll never catch up.

Don't get me wrong. I'll be there - yelling my *** off. And, I'm hoping that were 'due' to come out red-hot. But, it's hard to be optimistic.
 
Sure our team has a chance, but you would be a fool to place money on Texas winning.

The reality of it is that our ranking is so high because we beat two great teams very early in the season. If you throw those two games out, we have looked average at best. Meanwhile, Kansas is arguably the best team in the country.
 
i'm still pissed about that damn wisconsin loss. that one hurts the most, imo. we'd be 20-3, with another top 15 team defeated. just stings the way we lost that one.

Stop pretending like Texas doesn't play a MUCH different game against KU. From what I've seen, Texas plays much better when they're inspired to play hard. I think that explains why you've seen lackluster effort against the Blind Sisters of the North, but victories against two teams that will probably make the Elite Eight. I expect an inspired effort tonight against KU....afterall, Rick Barnes always decides to showup against the Hawks.

I'm starting to question how well he coaches effort. I think that's evident in the defensive struggles he's had with teams in the past.

I've seen you on the phog quite a bit, and usually you're more friendly than that. Surely you don't think it's ignorant of me to give an opinion, right? Can you explain to me why year-in and year-out, elite athletes are incapable of playing elite defense in Rick Barnes' system? I don't think he coaches defensive effort as well as some other coaches. I think Coach K coaches defensive effort in worse athletes better than Rick Barnes does. Just my opinion.

Oh, and I wasn't saying the Horns play out of character when they beat the Hawks. I was simply saying that they always play up to potential against KU. And do you really expect me to understand your inside jokes with OSU fans? What else about my post was ignorant?
 
Barnes's teams are known for their defense and rebounding/getting dirty. These last two years have been the exception. You have to play with the players you have.
 
2 years ago we finished tops in the nation in opponent shootong % and scoring. Barnes is all about rebounding and defense we just don't have the guns right now to be great at those.
 
Barnes is a very mediocre offensive coach. If you don't think he is an elite defensive coach then you don't watch much basketball.
