you suck. officially

3 of the last 4 times i have been there, including today, they were completely out of the one item that i went there for becuase they dont carry it at the grocery store down the street from me

i mean, is it their restocking policy to wait unil they see a huge gap on the shelf when they walk by and say "huh, i guess we better order some more of that stuff"

yes, the one on 38th & lamar, i live about 5 minutes away. it can suck my ***

whole foods dominates it so hard it isnt even funny. and its one of the best workday lunch spots in town too

Maybe they just sell out of the item as soon as they stock it. HEB sells out of their Kashi Heart to Heart Waffles VERY fast. It got to where some people arrive minutes after they stock that section just to get them. Screw that.

Also, try getting lowfat cottage cheese or HEB canned sparkling water at the Hancock HEB most times of most days. I just went to other ones to get those items while school is in session. During holidays or between semesters are the only times I have luck getting those items. They just fly out the door.

If you put in a request card with the store (I assume CM is the same way) they will contact you when they have that item back in stock and will pull some of it for you to come pick up so you don't miss it again. They did this for me with the water but I found that I can just go to a store with less students and get the item with no problems.

I've never hated going to central market nearly as much as I hate going to whole foods. I don't generally have anxiety problems in public, except for when I'm trying to maneuver through Whole Foods. That, and the produce prices are a general outrage.

I usually enjoy going to central market.

I'm with Fanny. Going to Whole Foods is a hellish experience for me. But, some people (including my wife) love the place.

I prefer Central Market. But, I've also never had the horrible experience that the OP apparently had there, so it's all relative.

My problem with Whole Foods is the lack of parking anytime, it seems. I just go at times less likely to be packed. I only go to either of those places when I have lots of time to invest into the "experience". I never go to either if I have only a couple of items.

To my fellow seltzer drinker, no kidding. But the main culprits in our demise is fit girls. I see some sexy thangs with water in their baskets and know it will be gone. I suggest an HEB sort of near you but with less healthy people. They will always have their water.

The one I go to for the water give me looks at the register because I will put five or so 12 packs at a time. This one lady asked me what I did with that. "I drink it". She laughed and said, "Of course you do, sorry for prying. It is just odd. Nobody buys that stuff here, I guess." I told her my story about the Hancock one being out all the time and she then saw the light.

She asked me if the stuff was good and I told her no, don't begin to buy it. She laughed. She better not like it.

They should change the name of Whole Foods to Whole Lotta Money Foods because their prices are ridiculous. Why anyone wants to pay 20 to 25 percent more for their groceries baffles me.

the Four Points expansion won't be a Premium, but they are adding an artisan bakery and, from what I understand, a lot more Central Market items (and Food to Go I think). I go to that HEB as well.

As for restocking and staffing at Central Market, I think it's a general HEB problem. I have yet to figure out the method they use for restocking and timing the staff at that store -- it is almost always in need of being restocked.
