DeAndre Daniels...the former verbal UT commit, top 10 5-star rivals recruit, and also the only recruit I'm aware of to not make a decision yet or sign a LOI for this upcoming basketball season, has narrowed down his list to 3 per Rivals. He had Kentucky, SDSU, Duke, Kansas and Texas as "high interest' over the last couple of months and per Rivals, it's down to Kansas, Duke and Texas now. He likely has to make his decision by mid-May. From various reports, it sounds like Duke really made an impact when he took his visit there. Originally, he was not interested in Duke, but now it may be the favorite. Between Kansas and UT...I'm not sure who has the advantage at this point. Rivals has the UT class already as #7...I think ESPN may have us at #5 or higher...and adding Daniels would be a big pick-up. I know he may be a 1-and-done like others...but if that's they way things continue to go down, I'd rather have the best 1-and-done's in the country. I don't think we're the favorite, but to be in the final three over Kentucky, is a good thing.

I can't imagine he's interested in coming back... probably more like not burning any bridges just in case something goes awry.

I guess there is a possibility he'd want to play a lot with Hamilton leaving, whereas he'd be in more of a supporting role at either blue school. Plus, with Rick's goal being to put guys in the NBA and all, maybe he likes the idea of a "one-and-done-friendly" campus.

Yes...at Duke...he'd be battling for playing time. At KU...he'd actually be on a re-building team, but potentially KU's worst team in years. Texas would have the need for him and a decent supporting cast. So I'd put us in 2nd position behind Duke, unless he's looking for a team that is 1-and-done friendly (as you said) and has a chance of doing something next year (=Texas).
