Dead Period

Things have been so slow in the recruiting forum that if finally occurred to me that this must be a Dead Period for college recruiting. It is, in fact, a dead period through 1/3/13 except for mid-year enrollees. This is followed by a combined Dead or Quiet Period for another week.

What the heck am I going to do with all this free time?

Any leads on a schollies opening up due to attrition? Not sure what will happen to case or Jordan hicks?

How many potential signings will we have? What other positions are we looking filling? Any glaring needs?

The great win over a good Oregon State can only be a big positive that was much needed. It can only help our recruiting now.

I sure hope so! This recruiting season seems to be an anomaly with the decommits and us losing some head-to-heads with aggy.

So far, we have the following numbers in our 13 remaining commits:

QB (1)
TE (1)
OL (2)
WR (2)

DT (1)
LB (2)
DB (2)
ATH (2) - Raulerson who could play OL or DL, and Chevoski Collins who could be WR or DB

I think it's a safe bet that we need more OL/DL types as well as a pass catching TE. We'll see how the numbers pan out.

tamster, losing head to head with the aggies was common in the 80's and 90's. aTm got whoever they wanted in that period and everyone else got the leftovers.

Looks like that will happen again.
