Justin Madubuike ..... McKinney North (Mckinney, TX)
4-star ..... SDE ..... 6-3/255 ..... aggy
Pronounced mah-du-bu-kay, this popular DE would be a great addition to Charlie Bedford's 3-3-5 scheme.

Per Horns Digest:
[He] plays with maximum effort on each and every snap. He plays inside at defensive tackle in a 4-3, and despite being a bit undersized for that position he is able to control the line of scrimmage and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Causes disruption with his penetration. Has the edge rush ability once he moves out to d-end. He has strong hands to shed blocks if he gets locked up. Plays low and gap sound.

Per IT:
Madubuike has the size needed to hold the edge, especially as he gets bigger (and he will get bigger), but it’s his burst off the ball and ability to beat blockers that makes him special. With a squat that’s already well into the 500’s, you’re not going to move him with ease. With a power clean of 330 pounds, he has the type of explosiveness that will put blockers on banana peels.

Per HD:
"Madubuike is the No 1 ranked end prospect in Texas and No 4 ranked defensive end in America."

"Charlie Strong is a great coach with great goals for his football team," Madubuike said.

Madubuike has one of the most overall complete games from any high school football player in the 2016 class.

Madubuike made the trip to ATX with his family on Saturday and spent some quality time with the staff. This is very good news.

Per HD:
Madubuike keeps things close to the vest. He doesn't visit all that much. But he was in Austin over the weekend to spend some time with Texas' coaching staff, and it was much needed on both sides.

You simply don't get much better than Madubuike when it comes to defensive ends in 2016. He's a rare talent. Any amount of time a staff gets to spend with him 1-on-1 is priceless.

It's hard to say what this means moving forward other than the Longhorns are a legitimate contender, and that should be good enough right now.

“I have no idea (when I want to make a decision),” he said. “I want to tell a coach: 'Hey, I’m committing here. Don’t worry about me. I’m ready to work as soon as I get to campus.' I want to get that point addressed and let them know that I’m really taking it slow.”

“I talk to Charlie Strong all the time,” Madubuike said. “He’s a great coach and a great motivator. He has great people around him. They got great players like Malik Jefferson, DeAndre McNeal and Charles Omenihu. All these guys are showing me love on Twitter, too. UT is a great school and a school I look forward to seeing again.”

“The visit (to Texas) was really nice,” Madubuike said. “I felt a personal connection. At A&M, it was more gold, bells and diamonds. At UT, it was more like family. I felt something personal there. I ate lunch with Malik Jefferson and all the coaches. It felt like family. It was absolutely a great visit. It was probably my best visit.”

Yeah, hate to lose him to the ags, but the ags D is playing well and our D is not. He would definitely be in the rotation as a true frosh here.

Per @Joe Fan:
aggy commit Justin Madubuike loves him some Charlie --

"He’s a great, great, great coach. A great guy, (he’s) probably one of the best guys who recruited me. I used to call him all the time. He used to answer at 12 at night and all that stuff. I really thought I was going to play for him.

Alas, it appears he will not be. Word is that his parents are insisting he keep his word/honor his commitment. Plus, they say he really likes Chavis too.

Well he stepped into a world where up is down and down is sideways, and now reality has set in, and parents won't let him back out. Finishing 5th or 6th in the SEC west with no hope of ever going to anything besides the piss-ant bowl every year isn't bad.....it's the worst. That really Sux!!
