I have probably lived through more than a dozen govt shutdowns in my life. My Dad was career Civil Service. He'd report to work, sign his furlough, and come back home. We were middle class at best, but I don't remember it being a big deal.


The Left wing, mainstream media tries to make it seem like the world is ending and all the thousands of families furloughed are going to starve to death.

It would be funny except that I know lots of low information voters, who get their news from the front page of Yahoo, believe it.
