Parrish Cobb ..... La Vega (Waco, TX)
4-star ..... CB ..... 5-11/178 ..... ou Bailor

Cobb is a cousin, schoolmate, and close friend of UT offered Eric Cuffee.

Per 247Sports (1), 247Sports (2) and 247Sports (3):
He doesn't have other-worldly length or height, but Cobb is a fast, fluid cornerback who looks the part of a big-time FBS prospect.

In terms of foot quickness and explosiveness he brings plenty of both to the table and his ability to change directions and make easy transitions from a backpedal was impressive [at The Opening].

He is a fluid athlete with the ability to be a cover corner. He plays with great instincts and has a strong work ethic.

During drills [at the Houston Speed & Skill], he showed off some fancy footwork. He was quick out of his breaks. Cobb was quick to understand what coaches were telling him. In one-on-ones, he was one of the top players despite seeing limited reps due to a hamstring strain. He showed some great hips and instincts at the position as he took home defensive back MVP honors.

Per HD:
"It was a great experience," Cobb said. "I can tell the coaches are really trying to turn the program around. They aren’t just planning to turn it around and leave. I like how they actually want to be a part of the Longhorn family."

Malik Jefferson was able to spend some time with Cobb during junior day.

"The best part was after the trip when I was talking one on one with Malik Jefferson," Cobb said. He was giving me a lot of insight on the college side other than just football. He also let me know how the training was and how much the coaches and players push you. My type of organization."

Cobb spoke with OB:
"I went up there and I was talking to coach (Chris) Vaughn. Then we went in the D-coordinator's office and that's when they offered," Cobb said.

"That's a really big deal for me," Cobb said. "I've been wanting the UT offer for a pretty long time now."

"I like how they got all these new coaches. I have a bond with the coaches already because I went up there for camp," Cobb said. "I know the school really well. It's been my dream school growing up. I've visited the campus a lot, so that's a plus for UT."

Per TFB:
Had a long conversation last night with a source close to Parrish Cobb. This one is very interesting. The long time Sooner commit apparently actually wants to go to Texas with his cousin (Eric Cuffee). But I’m told that the father wants his son at OU. So, my source tells me that the compromise in the end may end up being Baylor.

Wow, I truly don't get dads so involved in sonething like this.
Unless my son wanted to go to a place like the U when it was out of control, I think I would stay out of it.
Moms... I get, ....dads? Hmmmm
Give advice, absolutely, but to have influence that pushes him to something he might regret is something I don't understand.
And this isn't about UT or OU with me, but I think it might be a struggle to get someone engaged with the program if their heart is somewhere else.
A compromise? What 17 year old wants to compromise if they have the talent? If this is true, daddy needs to take a looong look in the mirror.

FWIW I think fathers should exercise the same involvement as mothers. Why not?

How is Baylor the end result of such a "compromise"? Was the dad saying "look son, OU is offering to give me $10,000 while UT is offering nothing but a scholarship. Baylor is offering me $5,000 so why don't you go there as a compromise? That way you don't have to go to blOwU and I'll still get a stack of cash?" That is literally the only way I see going to Baylor being the end result of some misbegotten "compromise".

I largely agree. The only other possibility would if Baylor was the 2nd or 3rd choice for both of them.

Plz don't misunderstand, happy dads involved - just making his son decision where he could be playing with his cousin seems out of place.
Because in my experience as a father and in working with kids, I get mommas baby , but again- just my opinion most dads know to give their sons distance on where to play football. I didn't say not to get involved, but to reach a compromise seems strange as the ultimate decision should stay with the young man.
I.e. Mommas don't like their sons playing football, joining the military etc and I understand that. My mom would have blocked me from joining the Marine Corps, my dad was against it, but honored my wishes.
Just my 2 cents and I still think it is strange for daddy to pressure a kid on where to go as OU and UT are both quality programs and UT is more disciplined and has better academics.

Wow, we may lose a RB, but pick up a DB. Aggy was laughing we only got one DB.

I think it was Higdon who said that Cobb wants to be at Texas, but his dad wants him at OU and wouldn't let him be a horn. So BU became some sort of a compromise between the two. That is amazing ans pathetic at the same time.

(I think his mom wants him at Texas too. Somebody at shaggy said that his mom and sister are Texas grads; I don't know)
