However, the various rumor mills I have been monitoring today like a stalkerazzi have mentioned two more possible stories for Texas today:

(1) Malik ended a periscope stream saying to watch out for some news tonight around 8:00

(2) Irvin Smith has not signed a LOI yet

If I had to guess, I would say that Malik's news is the announcement of a new RB coach. No real reason but by 8:00 recruiting should be wrapped up and that is the only other thing I can think of football related.

As for Irvin Smith, the rumor is that Bama asked him to grey shirt. His twitter feed says he will announce at 3:15. Could be nothing, but could be something.

Another possibility (?) is 5-star LB Caleb Kelly, announcing tonight at 7:30. He has been a strong OU lean but I don’t have any knowledge of a possible flip to Texas.

If caleb hasnt visited or put us in his list at n e time then i just dont see it happening

Smith has tweeted out he's choosing among Bama, Memphis and Texas. From here, it seems like Saban strong armed him into not visiting Texas or having an in home with Strong. If the grayshirt rumors or true, maybe Saban found the limit of how far this prospect will be pushed.

That would be unexpected and AWESOME!!

Quite frankly its all gravy from here so I would welcome anyone Strong thinks is good enough to offer but I won't get anxious about missing on even the biggest recruit.

FWIW - Irvin Smith is apparently telling reporters that Bama did not request a grey shirt.

Charlie just said at the presser that RB coach is not filled and has not been a priority. Spending all time on recruiting. He is gonna give his staff a couples days off and then work on filling staff. Kind of sounded to me like there might be some responsibility changes within the existing staff members but that is my reading between the lines.
