Day 1 Results

It appears that the results of 8 regionals were "as expected" with the 1 and 2 seeds advancing to the winner's bracket:

Fayette-nam
Auburn
Georgia Tech
Virginia
Myrtle Beach
Louisville
Los Angeles
Coral Gables

There were then 7 Regionals where the 3 seed defeated the 2 seed:

Hawaii over San Diego
No. Carolina over Cal
Citadel over Va. Tech
Arizona over Baylor
Oregon over Conneticut
Oregon St. over Fla. Atlantic
oh yeah and...
U LA La over RICE!!!!

And the most unbelieveable (to me) regional is the Fullerton rgional...#1 Fullerton and #2 Stanford go down to #4 Minnesota and #3 New Mexico respectively. It may just be me, but seeing 2 traditional powerhouses go down like that is incredible. Either Stanford or Fullerton are going 0-2-BBQ!

Well, we know New Mexico can play some ball but the Fullerton loss is a bit surprising.

New Mexico beat Texas pretty good early in the year and they are a very good team, I am not surprised they won.
