I'm watching the preseason game between New England and Philadelphia. David Thomas is splitting time with Ben Watson, and David has a couple of nice catches so far. Since I have no interest in the Patriots except for David, I've been just watching Thomas and Watson to compare them, and the thing that sticks out is that David is doing a much better job than Watson blocking. Watson has completely busted three assignments so far, while David is doing a great job. On one third down play, David blocked his primary man and then scraped off and blocked a linebacker or defensive back, while the running back burst through the seam left by David's two blocks for a nice gain. I hope he stays healthy this year.
