Well, I suppose that America gets to vote (I watch a lot, but never vote). However, if you just went by what the judges said, that night had more similarity to rigged boxing than they meant.

Song #1-slow, safe, predictable. Song #2 - slow, safe, predictable. Song #3 - slow, safe, predictable, and a song which he had already sang. Feel free to mix in an upbeat song...oh wait, you did that and got ripped by the judges. He is unbelievably boring and I would like to see all these teenagers' faces after a snooze-fest concert and after each song he puts on his "I gotta crap my pants" face saying, " No, no, no way, thank you thank you, oh my gosh." You could seriously make a drinking game out of him doing that.

To me its style over substance. DA may have the better technically sound voice. But He's one dimensional. Whereas DC can do any kind of vocal style and make it sound good. Plus, I just believe he is more of a hitmaker. DA can do 80's easy listening great. DC could make a hit record... NOW.

Me 3! I was actually up until midnight voting for Cook! I do NOT want that 17 year old, wet behind the ears, pip squeak winning! Granted he has a good voice, if you like listening to easy listening, but I'd rather buy a CD by Cook than DA ANY day! Guess we'll see later how it all turns out....

David Archuletta doesnt suck..the kid can sing but he's not versatile..he'll probably win the competition but when it comes down to it a talented and versatile singer, which David Cook is, will succeed out there even more..

Agree--the kid is lame. WTF singing sucky rendition of "Imagine" twice? The judges' suck-o-meters need calibrating. Everything that sucks, they love. Everything that doesn't suck, they no likey. Cook is miles better than the 98-lb simpering weakling.

Think back to what the squeek toy did to Imagine, Sweet Caroline, Cracking Rosie, etc and i just cannot see the infatuation the judges have. The dude is not good. Often his words are unintelligible so I am not even sure the kid is a technically good singer.

Jordin Sparks looked awful. Ruben was, amazingly, pretty good last night. The only prior winners not around were KellyC and that weird stiff from Nashville. Where the heck is he?

I'm glad that staying up until midnight paid off to be one of the 12 million that beat that lil ****!! WOOOHOO!!! I was happier than hell when Ryan said David COOK!!! His performance with ZZTop was AWESOME! Gave me chills! I can't wait to see what type of CD he comes out with. What was the deal with that one loser and the USC band? Could have done without that ****! Carrie was remarkable! Jordin terrible, esp that gold dress! The "cruella deville" chic in the top 12 was the only one I noticed not wearing a dress every time the chics came out and sang. Hmmm?? I just wondered why!? That suit Randy was wearing was hideous!! At least Simon came back and apologized that he was hard on Cook. When DC came out singing in that one song, I can't remember which, then DA was there and started singing as well, it just ruined it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Overall, I thought it was great, esp since Cook won!! And I can do with NEVER seeing dread ag and cruella ever again!
