The plane, if I'm not mistaken, was dropping flour bombs. I remember my Dad (GRHS) telling me that he did some flour bombing competitions when he flew.

If memory serves, Dad said they'd also do flour bombing from 1000+ feet with 5 lb sacks of flour.

That said, I feel REALLY sorry for the poor bastard that took the wing upside his head. Fell like a sack of...well, you know.
