Yes i admit it. I got my hopes up that they would come out in this second half and make an impact. And what do they do? I guess i should have learned by now..

Disappointing for sure.... I had the same expectations they would come out after the break with a lot of momentum. Twins have exposed and exploited the starting pitching and the bullpen. Rangers didn't need the bats to go silent at the same time

Some of us longtime Ranger fans have gone through these things like clockwork for decades. I could have sworn that we would start the second half with losses.

The point remains - Get some damn pitching. Some of us have become so stale waiting for excellence to sprout from mediocrity. That doesn't happen. Bad pitchers are bad pitchers. They ain't gonna transform to Ryans and help Rangers win something, just because we are all wishing for it.

Most importantly, stop throwing away whatever pitching prospects we have. The good thing is that these losses would probably help prevent any mistaken notions that Rangers have entertained so many times that they might be in some sort of a race, and throwing away good prospects. Stay tight and wait for next year. Things are looking good for now, if we do not start doing the same old crap we have been doing - stuff like getting Harold snail Reynolds for Sosa and Alvarez way back in 1989, thinking we were in a race!

Well, what are ya gonna do? Same old story, I just hope they can salvage today. The long homestand coming up could possibly be a good thing, but it doesn't matter if the pitching continues the way it has been.
 
Well looks like the Rangers game today isn't on here in Austin...The Astros, however, are on both WGN (playing Cubs) and ch. 77. Absolute garbage.
 
this is a good thing. first of all, we all knew it would happen. it always does. if this continues, management will be less tempted to trade prospects for average mlb pitching in an effort to win the west or wildcard this season.

my hope is that they play just bad enough to fall out of contention, then bring up some youngsters and play well at the end of august and in september. maybe even trade FOR a real pitcher or pitching prospect.

as for those of you with higher hopes for the second half, wtf were you thinking?

the rangers have already shown that they plan to develop their talent, they arent going to trade any young pitchers

if anything the rangers will trade Millwood or Padilla for more prospects
 
good lord, everyone take a xanex. does anyone know that the twins have really, really, really excellent young pitching that makes me jealous plus they won 21 of 28 going into the AS break?

the break hurt some of our momentum. i think it takes a bit to get timing back. our offense will be fine. we need to trade anyone and everyone available for young pitching. we need hurley back in the rotation. if the sky falls, who gives a **** since we aren't playing for this year anyway.
 
Totally agree, Uncle Rico. We're right on course so long as JD doesn't try and get cute. Besides, people are acting like they don't realize the Twins are effing good. I'm amazed we salvaged one game out of that abortion of a series. 3 runs in 3 games. Wow.

Padilla looked awesome. I hope he can sustain it. If we could just rid ourselves of the albatross that is Kevin Millwood, I'd be a happy guy.

I was at the 2-14 game which was pretty rough. All things considered, I didn't get too much crap from Twins' fans. They know they have a good young team, and that it looks like we are heading in that direction too. Taking the game yesterday was a must, because getting swept right out of the gates for the 2nd half would have been a whole new bag of tricks.

PS: Even Twins fans up here in MN are pumped about Hamilton. Tons of people watching him take BP, and trying to get his autograph. He's the man, and the whole world knows it.
 
BTW, there was a ton of talk about them acquiring Blalock, so it was good that he got some PT during this series. They have a ton of good young pitching that I would love the Rangers to get their hands on: Slowey, Blackburn, Perkins, etc.
 
well that was about the worst inning from the rangers pitching staff all year. top 5 for sure. unbelievable. ******* terrible. let's walk nick swisher so we can face quentin who has destroyed the rangers. way to go!!!!
 
CJ Wilson not helping himself in his feud with Ozzie Guillen, blowing a save on one pitch in the 8th. (Guardado really did more damage.) I would like to have seen Ozzie's reaction, but he was ejected and watching from the clubhouse.
 
that was about as ****** an inning in recent history.

the CWS had about 5 hits and 4 boots today going into that inning and ******* get a 5-spot.

Seriously WTF was Wash thinking? Taking the bat from an All Star and giving it to the almost completely worthless Catalanatto.
 
they said it might have had something to do with bradley getting beaned in the 7th inning. there's no way in **** Wash would just randomly take bradley out of the game in the 9th with a runner on base. even he isn't that ******* stupid.
 
i love how we bash our manager when we're 4 games over .500

everyone on here wouldve been beyond thrilled if someone had told them the rangers would be in second place and above .500...despite that though, our manager is a 5 year old retard according to you

Feldman has already given up a 3 run bomb in the first inning. Looks to be another outstanding pitching performance by our beloved Rangers.

another solo shot the next inning. haha at least it's 4-3 now. rangers coming back, but we have still left a lot of people on base through 3 innings. Davis just struck out with them juiced on 3 straight pitches.
