Damn PC Won't Boot

Froze on me this morning, and since cntrl-alt-delete woulnd't reboot, I just unplugged the damn thing. Now, when I turn it back on, Windows XP won't load. It powers on, and give some signal to my printer, but my monitor is not getting a signal, and Windows is apparently not loading b/c I don't get the traditional boot-up sounds.
I have a Norton boot-up disc, but that PC doesn't seem to recognize it.
Any suggestions?

have you tried getting to the BIOS screen? Power on and hold down the Delete key.

But, most likely is that a cable is loose inside your case. Check all the power cables going to the CD ROM and Hard Drives. Also check the data cable connections.

It sometimes helps to remove your graphics card and then put it back in. Same thing with the memory sticks.

Some systems will shut down if the CPU fan stops working to prevent the processor from frying. Most motherboards will emit beeping sounds when something is wrong and these beeps correspond to a particular problem, which you can look up the manual.

Damn, thought I had it working.
Actually, it seems like it's not shut down Windows properly, and therefore can't boot up.
Can't boot to Bios.

Looks like its working, I can read your posts loud and clear.

Did you just do the Microsoft updates? My friend did, and he had the same exact problem. Windows wouldn't load and he'd just get a blank screen. He talked to Dell and all they told him is that it's been happening a lot. My friend had to reformat his hard drive. I hope that's not what is wrong with yours, or that there is some other way to fix it.

Are you getting any signal at all to your monitor at any time, or is it totally blank? If it's the latter, try attaching with a monitor cable you know works; if that doesn't work try what someone suggested earlier and re-seat your video card. Since the problem started with a freeze and now you have no video, I wonder if your card didn't die on you; does your motherboard have built-in video or do you have an external card?

couple of y'all nailed it -bad video card (and a real expensive one at that, but under warranty). seems like my power supply was less than I needed, too, so i swapped that out.
Back in bizness, so thanks for the thoughts and ideas.
