Are others' computers being taken over by this lop.com spyware/adware? It's driving me nuts. It automatically changes your homepage to its search engine, it adds a toolbar in IE, it adds abut 160 of its own sites to your "favorites" and it adds a bunch of icon links on the desktop. I have anti-spyware software (Search & Destroy) that "removes" it, but it keeps coming back. Anyone know how to permanently get rid of this crap? Thanks in advance.

I don't know how to stop it, but please, for your sake, download Mozilla Firefox. It won't happen again.

download a free software called Bazooka spyware scanner off of download.com

It doesn't remove anything for you automatically but it will tell you how to. Useful for things that ad aware or other spyware removal tools do not permanently remove. Of course often you do have to delete registry keys and other files.

It seems that some combination of up-to-date versions of Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, and Hijack This would get rid of it.
