Dallas

An LDS (Mormon) friend of mine is visiting Dallas for the BYU/OU game and wants to know what there is to do in Dallas for the day. I figured you all would be the right people to ask. What would you recommend for sightseeing?

If they like art, then hit the Nasher. It is considered the best private modern sculpture collection anywhere. Skip the Dallas Art Museum itself -- the collection is noithing special. If they like history, the SIxth Floor museum is really well-done. They can hit both in a day if they have time.

two chicks at the same time... j/k

hmm.. tex mex for sure. unclie julios.

get out on 635 and enjoy the traffic/heat/concrete.

ok, just curious about where your friend plans on staying for the game? You guys have been mentioning stuff that is totally fine to do, but pretty far from the stadium, which isn't even in Dallas Co. I will attempt to refrain from getting into that fact too much, but it will make a massive difference on what your friend wants to see/do.
Of course there is the Ballpark right there, but the Rangers play in Baltimore that weekend, but if they get there the Wed. before then they can catch a Rangers game. 6 Flags is right there as well. Also, if your friend likes art, and some great atmosphere then I would recommend heading over to downtown Ft. Worth. You can't really get in the wrong place to easily there. Some great restaurants downtown, and if they want art, then there is the Art District in Ft. Worth, which is great.
Also, the Ft. Worth and Dallas zoos are both great.

Yeah, if they're staying in Arlington, I'd hit FW too, instead of Dallas. You can go to art museums anywhere. You can only go to the stockyards and Billy Bob's in one place...

Good point about restaurants. They are of course from Utah so they probably aren't use to good Mexican Food, Barbecue, or Cajun Food. They do have a few good seafood places, French, Italian and even Greek food in SLC. What do you recommend in the medium price range - (ie. like Pappasitos/Pappas pricing.)? Since they are going in for a game, I doubt they want to go to a dressy place.

I woud suggest Razoo's for Cajun in downtown Ft. Worth. Daddy Jacks for a bit more upscale food. El Rancho Grande on N. Main for the best Tex Mex. I would recommend Humperdinks for someplace casual with good beer for near the stadium. Also, for BBQ, you know I will recommend David's in Pantego on W. Park Row.
