I went to the Black Crowes concert this past weekend at the Palladium and was wondering about where bands play. What is the decidinhg factor when it comes to where a band plays when they come to town?

Are they paid a % of gate, flat fee, combination? Also, why would the Black Crowes play at the Palladium and not House of Blues?
