Dallas Golf Lessons

I'm tired of the mid and low 90s. I'd like to improve my game enough to join a country club.

Can anyone recommend a good golf teacher in Dallas? I'm inclined to go to Hank Haney and get a midpriced instructor, but I don't know if there's anything better out there.

might give one of the guys at the PGA superstore a try. Sure he/she isnt oging to be hank haney or randy smith... but if you are shooting in the 90s, he or she mught be able to give you a few things to work on and help you lower your scores. i think lessons are pretty cheap there and you'll get it on video...

practice your chipping and putting, play conservative off the tee. Never say" I think I can make it in two" on a par 5. Play for par instead of birdie.

If you do all of that you should be able to play mid 80's golf unless you can't hit it at all with some consistency. At which point you shouldn't be expecting to play in the mid 80's.

BTW, learn what course 'slope' means and adjust your expectations accordingly on the higher 'slope'd' courses.

There are different swing keys for different parts of the game too. Short game can have a couple different variations from your standard mid iron swing. Hitting off the tee can also have some very important differences than hitting your standard mid irons.

Learning proper ball position within your stance is huge depending upon what club you are using and how your terrain is with respect to where the ball is lieing.

Read about the game. Learn the physics involved with ball spin and how the different angles of attack of the club at impact affect it.

There is a ton to learn. Then you have to simplify it and not think too much about it once you start your swing. A pre-shot routine is a must to help you gather yourself and be able to have some consistency too, especially with all the new found knowledge running around in your head as you strive to learn more and more about the great game.

Good luck.
