Dallas bidding to host Final Four

Dallas is looking to host the women's final four between 2012- and 2016. San Antonio is hosting the 2010 event.

Hmm. Dallas is not a big-town WBB supporter in terms of local support, so I'm a little confused why they think they should be awarded the Final Four. If they do get it, hopefully it will be played at AA arena as opposed to Reunion.

Yep, it's the AA Center that would be the site. I hope they get as it would be easy for me to get to (minimal travel and I have relatives in the area).

I live in Dallas, so I'd be thrilled. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only WBB fan residing in Dallas. Granted, we don't really have any teams to support other than SMU, but we do have the facillities, hotels and all the rest that goes with hosting such an event. I don't really think the NCAA counts on the host city residents to buy tickets to the Final Four.

With four teams and their fans, your going to sell out the event. It's more about cities that have enough hotel space, arenas, entertainment transportation costs etc.
Dallas would be a great selection. And it would be the AA center

Most of the fans who attend the Final Four are not the locals. The tickets are sold through a lottery system so those who get tickets are coming from all over the nation to attend the event. I'm hoping to get tickets for the San Antonio Final Four.

If Dallas wins I'm in and by then 2012 - 2016 our Longhorns will be Final Four contenders. How SWEET!?!?!?!?!!!!
