dairy queen

i never get burgers there. only steak and chicken finger baskets. and desserts. mmmmmmm oreo blizzard

It's hard to **** up a burger, hell, even Jack is edible, but the burger at the Queen is the worst burger I have ever put in my mouth.

I was called "Country Basket" by an African American friend at Austin High because I originally came from a farm on the South Plains.

I don't mind a DQ belt buster once or twice a year, but they're not the greatest.

The WORST burger I have ever eaten was from Waterloo Ice House on Lamar.

I've never had a burger from any DQ that wasn't overcooked. Must be the way they think they should be done.

Second the thoughts on Waterloo. Went to the one on Burnet and not only was the food not good but the service was awful as well. Never going back.

Come to think of it I have never had a great burger from there ever. It has been years since I bothered. I just get the fingers baskets as mentioned above. But my Blizzard is Heath, thank you.

I was driving somewhere with my high school girlfriend -- we had been dating for easily 6 months at the time -- and I was telling her the story of some road trip. I mentioned that we stopped at DQ to get a dipped cone, and she asked "what's that?" I asked her what she meant -- she explained that she had no idea what it was, and had never had a DQ dipped cone.

Without saying another word, I flipped a U-turn across the median, and immediately headed for the DQ on Bellaire Blvd. I hit the drive through, and for a buck and change, got us 2 DQ dip cones. I couldn't believe that a Texas girl had never had a DQ dip cone.

She was cute as could be (kinda had a Cameron Diaz look going on), and sweet and kind, but LORD was she naive to the ways of the world (which probably explains why she was suckered into dating ME).

Their burgers are fine, I guess. More of a country basket guy, myself.

And I've had a decent burger at Waterloo, too -- I've been to all 4 locations over the years, and while it's not my favorite in town, I never had a burger that made me think that I would never go back.

Dairy Queens may be but Blizzards are not. Hits all day, all night.

they have (or used to) corn dogs on the kids menu. Any time I can order a corn dog, I'm getting one. If you are what you eat, when I was 12 I was 45% pb&j, 30% corn dog and 25% frito pie.

sheriff,
thats why you ALWAYS have a spare shirt or towel in the car to throw over the top of your good shirt/pants. if i ever die in a car wreck, theres a GREAT chance it will involve me eating a DQ dipped cone..... and so long as i'm the only one that goes down, thats cool with me

I finally found a thread where I can share my pain. In Illinois where I have lived for the last 9 years they don't sell the country basket. There are no freakin steak finger country baskets. Also the DQs here don't have the chicken fried steak burgers(whatever they call them) . Those to me are the two best meals at DQ.

BTW DQ started in Illinois but there are about seven times as many in the state of Texas, which of course has the most of any other state.
