Daeshon Hall decommitted

SAuatin,

The report I read said he grew up in the Washington area. Was visiting his father there this summer. Some speculation he may not even return to Lancaster, but remain in Washington. It was stated he has strong feelings for the West coast.

Sounds like the young man has some decisions to make.

I would give the benefit of the doubt until something indicates otherwise.

Thanks Joe... knew you would be ALL over this!

It's being reported, and yes... over at 247Sports/Hookem.com that Mr. Hall is spending his summer with his father in the State of Washington and could be moving back there. All power to him if that be the case!

Working on a Hall write up. Not used to writing decommitments. I don't know how @TaylorHamm247 does it.

Bitterness over a "lost" recruit? Disappointment perhaps, but who really gives a flip which college some high school student picks?

I'm cool with it. but we are going to need some depth. Alex Okafor is a senior and Jackson Jeffcoat is a toss up if he stays for his senior year especially if has a monster junior campaign. The NFL pays a pretty premium for DE. That leaves us with 3 scholarship DE in Reggie Wilson, Cedric Reed and Toshiro Davis but he needs to beef up. Maybe Jake Raulerson can fill the void because I think we are stacked on the O line with these last two classes coming in. I gotta be forgetting somebody. I wouldn't be opposed to looking for some JUCO studs.

i'd be pretty surprised if raulerson wasnt a DE next season and beyond.

he seemed better suited for the DL than the OL in my opinion.

I am thinking the coaches are taking a hard look at the DL position and looking at out of state guys. This is a position that we may find better talent out of state. I will be watching DE and DT recruiting closely this year but they need to take some guys and I just don't think there are many great ones in state this year.

The good news is the coaches got 3 DEs and 4 DTs last year. 2012 class was a defensive and OL/DL loaded class.

I think they're looking at the JUCO ranks right now for a DE. My understanding is there's mutual interest between Texas and Kewan Alfred from Trinity Valley CC. Aside from Kewan Alfred, i think they're looking to do further evaluations before they really make any other offers.

Beautiful campus and city. Best of luck and I hope your family enjoys watching you play a healthy and long season.

You had me until perfect weather. Lived up there 10 years & it is the worst anywhere unless you like cold, rainy, dreary days. The fact that Portland & Seattle have the highest suicide rates has long been associated with the miserable weather.

HOOK 'EM,

What TexDoc said. Lived there for 14 years and loved it, but it had nothing to do with the weather. Well, except for that one week of summer every August
