Is this thing junk? Can't keep a good connection. Router resets every few minutes. Tech support is crappy. Even the solutions I've found online only work for about 30 minutes. Do companies test their own products before they sell them? Should I just return it?

return it for another of the same to see if problem repeats...you could just have a bad unit. Or if willing to pay more get Netgear or just a bit more Linksys.

i've always had problems with d-link wireless routers and cards.. they are pieces of ****.

never had problems with linksys stuff.

What cards are you using? I found that the DWL-520 wireless B card drops signal constantly on all the D-Link and Linksys routers (tried on 5 different ones). I replaced those cards with the D-Link wireless G and extreme G cards and have no problems at all. I've had both Linksys and D-Link. If you are going with all wireless B stuff, go D-Link. If you want the G, I think D-Link is a little more user friendly and I have gotten better reception with my desktops and laptops off the D-Link routers. I've had one Linksys router go out on me, but it was an older one. The new higher end Linksys hardware seems to be made pretty well though.

I have that dlink router, used as a wap for my laptop. i've had no troubles
with it, using a dwl-g630 card. dlink sells good stuff at a really good
price, but more people have less trouble, it seems, using linksys products.

i have the befsr41 as my router. the first one got fried by lightning;
linksys sent me another no questions asked. been running for years. i'm
gonna replace that with this one
. it has a 200mhz mips processor and 32mb ram that runs linux. which
means it's firmware has been hacked and there is all kinds of cool stuff
you can do with it, like boost the output power 900%, and superior qos
bandwidth management. this is the router you want if have voip behind
your firewall.

check out sveasoft for an
idea of what this thing can do.
