Top college baseball teams will take the "Road to Omaha" through at least 2030.
But they won't be playing at Rosenblatt Stadium after 2010. Starting in 2011, the team buses will be heading downtown under a new College World Series agreement struck today with the NCAA.
"This is the first day of the rest of our lives when it comes to the College World Series," said Jack Diesing Jr., president of College World Series of Omaha Inc.
The NCAA agreed to an unprecedented deal to keep the series in Omaha for at least 20 years. The deal also offers some protection for Omaha taxpayers worried about how to pay for the $140 million stadium project."
