...in 63 years of the College World Series, Texas has appeared over half the time (33 times) and played for the title nearly 1 out of 5 times (12 times).

Please do not compare Texas' six championships with LSU which won five championships under "gorillaball." How do you think they really won them?

Which one of those was the one we should have gotten another game against Wichita State? I believe our coach opted to make the last game all or nothing (even though we did not have a loss in the double elimination tournament format of the time) . . .any one know why?

Man we had our feet on LSU's throat last year. We freaking had them after ESPN all but said we had no chance and then the bullpen collapsed. I would say it was the worst loss in the finals ever if it was not for 2004, 1989, 1984,1985...

Texas doesn't just lose in those finals we get our hearts ripped out. Good thing we win alot to.

'89 hurt. But at least we still have the record for 12 runs in 1 inning against Big Ben and LSU.

much love to Coach Gus, but i, too, was baffled by his decision to pitch Brooks K. in a throw away game instead of holding him for the must win to get to the championship or, more likely, to pitch the championship game.

i, too, was sickened by the double elimination to the championship, then 1 game winner take all.

much better format before & since. i still like the double elimination all the way through instead of the 2 division play-off, but i really like the current best 2 of 3.

I think we were the first and last team to lose and win in the 1 game championship series...

1989 and 2002?

Correct?
