CWS Hotel Question??

Question for CWS veterans--- Do you make hotel reservations for the entire 12 days? If so, does anyone have a lead on rooms for under 100/night?

Please no remarks about jinx, etc. Making travel plans DOES NOT affect the way we pitch, bat and run. THe team is going to give their all until the end whether or not anyone makes travel plans.

When I went a few years ago for all two weeks I stayed at the Double Tree downtown that I won on Priceline for $65 a night after taxes. Usually some of the teams stay there.

I would recommend Priceline for sure.

I've been several times and I do make reservations for the whole time, but make sure they can be cancelled if we lose and I want to go home. You would be extremely lucky to find any rooms under $100/night. Under $150/night would actually be doing really well. Try Council Bluffs hotels or some of the casinos, sometimes you can get a better deal there. Also, sometimes if you wait for the last minute and other team's fans cancel their plans you can find some more reasonable deals, but you have to time when you're looking exactly right and you have to hope that you don't get teams with big fan bases that travel in (like Texas & LSU). However, I wouldn't necessarily count on finding those deals this year with this being the last year of the CWS at Rosenblatt. I know several people who are going whether their team goes or not. I've never tried Priceline, so no clue what you can get with that.

If you're into camping that's the cheapest way to go for sure. There's a nice KOA in West Omaha and a state park just inside Iowa that's not bad, I just can't remember the name of it right now. I went that route the first few times I went because it was all I could afford. I know there's a few places where you can camp with an RV, I've just never tried them. I think the CWSOmaha.com website has a list of them.

No jinx...I always make my reservations for the next season in July or August of the year before. Hasn't stopped us from getting there....
