Except for the stats about coaching. Augie is the only one with a NC (actually 5), by far the most experience, and the highest winning percentage.

I realize that ASU has impressive stats. No question about that. However, I would think that those numbers are at least somewhat inflated by the weakness of the PAC 10 this year.

I don't get your point, Ma'am. You MEAN we should show up at Rosenblatt, fly our flags, play our music, drink our Baileys and beer, cruise the vendors on 13th St, eat some Zestos, then actually go INTO the games and watch for the sheer pleasure of the whole spectacle?

Whata concept.

Then let's beat the HELL outta Southern Miss!

I agree that you can't only go off the numbers. But stats are the best way to compare teams right now. I can see how either ASU and CSF have to be considered the favorites.

But games still have to be played and baseball if a fickle sport...

The "numbers" are a very poor way of evaluating things as the last 5 years have shown (zero championships for top 8 teams).

I believe Texas has the best chance of winning because of Augie, pitching, and defense (in that order). CSF, ASU, and NC, I place as about tied for 2nd.

Texas had finished twice as champions, once as second place, and once as third place in its last four CWS appearances. I seriously doubt that the "numbers" had us finishing anywhere near as high.

I think we get a great break by playing MS because I predict Augie will pitch Green first and Ruffin second and the second game is sooooo important.

I see us in the NC weekend, but having a very tough series with CSF. If Horton were still there I would say we would lose, but with Augie, I think we win. This team reminds me so much of 2005's team.

The only thing I'll take away from those numbers is this: I'll be really darn shocked if Southern Miss wins it all.

The rest of the teams look pretty darn even. Texas has piss-poor hitting stats... but great pitching and fielding stats... not to mention coaching experience. The other six schools all look pretty good too.

I hope our offense has a whole bunch of games like Game 1 of our Super Regional. That was a thing of beauty to watch. Of course, that requires getting the lead off man on which will be priority #1 for the opposing team to prevent.

NebLHAB,

I can tell you don't enjoy the CWS . . .

Being the only UT baseball and football season ticket holders in the entire state of Nebraska, you'd think you'd make sure you had at least SOME fun at Rosenblatt.

I think you deserve some kind of trophy for that two-sport distinction.

See you Sunday.
