IMHO:

TCU looked stronger than I expected.

UCLA did well, even without their injured 2B-man.

The SEC is already king of the loser's bracket.

ASU is geting bonked by Clemson as I type this; Clemson seems the guttsiest team there, so far.

I'm not impressed with the announcers for the TCU game (radio) who found it necessary to say that the TCU players are getting lots of thanks for beating Texas; then I read something about it, and realize it's mostly Nebraska folks, so I feel not so bad about it.

I love baseball, but World Cup Soccer is almost more interesting than watching "other" teams play in Omaha.

just curious why you thought TCU looked stronger than you expected? Purke pitched the same way in Game 1 as he did vs Texas and all of his 15-0 victims. Frogs hit when they needed it early and that was enough. I expect them to be contenduhs.

Hook'em!!!

Just a feeling - probably based on it being TCU's first time there, and feeling that Fl. St. had to have better batters than we put up against TCU in Austin, that's all.

Very few people have given TCU enough credit for their Awesome year, they may not win the Championship but they have had a great year for any team. They also beat a Great team in Texas. Texas can hit in Omaha, that is a fact.

Wow, this really is the year of the lower seeded teams. ASU loses? That's surprising. TCU winning? Not surprising. I don't think anyone will beat Purke, and they have more than just Purke.

OU has a pretty nice place sitting in the winners bracket facing Clem's #2 with ASU having to dig out of the loser's bracket.

TCU/UCLA game tonight may be for the title.

Any team that can come to Austin and beat Texas in a super-regional has the potential to win the whole thing. And the bracket seems to be shaping up nicely for the Frogs. We'll see how they stack up against the Bruins soon...

Purke (cap and all) is tough....good hitting club and good pitching......I expect to see TCU in the championship series vs ASU.

Go Bruins ! Tonight you will see why Texas desperately needs a hitting coach. Wussy Winkler won't cut it.

huh? don't think so. 3 runs for Winkler should have been enough if he was on.

Now we get to see if TCU really does have a true pitching staff vs. just three very good starters. Something tells me they just might get another shot at that incredibly good starter they faced last night.

Just to finish, I think TCU has the better pitching lineup at this point. All they need is for this next pitcher to go 7-8 strong innings, win the game of course, that puts Purke back to starting against a lesser quality starter on Friday, Purke should win that game.

That moves TCU to pitching Johnny allstaff-Purke on Saturday, which is a tossup if TCU can get the UCLA ace out of there.

Might even have a rematch with Winkler.

to me, it all comes back to Wednesday's game against Florida State.

and to extend it all of the way, if Purke wins Friday, he could come back on Game 3 of the championship series on Wednesday. I know college kids aren't used to 4 days, but I think he could do this.
