Cutting and pasting into PDF

is this possible? I have a word doc i need to cut and paste a portion of into another pdf document.

I figure i can print it to PDF and insert it somehow, but I can't figure out how. Do I need to use photoshop, or is adobe good enough?

If it is, it'll probably be dependent upon the program that created it and how it was saved.

I don't think Photoshop is the answer, so far as I know you can only view PDFs and convert them to jpgs in it. Adobe Illustrator can create PDFs from an Illustrator file.

As far as Adobe Acrobat, any solution would no doubt require the distiller, not just the reader.

This post at Planet PDF indicates it might be possible to make changes in an existing document but it would require additional tools.

you need to have the full version of adobe acrobat in order to edit pdf files. this may be where you are running into trouble.

I'm at work, so i'm pretty sure i have the full version. I can use the touch up text and everything. I'm trying to figure out how to get that to wrap, which is a pain. In addition, i need to find a way to "insert" more room for the text that i'm inserting. In other words, I need blank white while keeping everything else (namely, the links that exist in the document that I don't really want to relink, which is why I'm avoiding photoshop).

I'll try that forum though - thanks. It's gotta be easy. It's just go to.

ok, there is a way to paste as an icon. but that doesn't help me at all. i need the actual PDF in word. while maintaining the links. ARG.

if the pdf has security on it then you won't be able to copy & paste text. You'll need to get some sort of pdf password cracker to turn off the security.

i can cut and paste the text. what i really need is a way to move everything down so that the text doesn't run over other text. I need to put new text at the top where there is no room.

You cannot do what you are trying to do without hours of tedious work. Frustrating, but true.

I would put everything into Word, and recreate the PDF. You'll have to recreate the lniks.

that's what i was afraid of. guess i'll just contract that work out. blast.

Yea part of the purpose of creating a PDF is to create a document that otehrs cant change. Getting a hold of the person who created the orginal document and then converted it would be ideal.

I thought PDF was a read-only file. Don't think you can edit a PDF file without the original file it was created from.
