Syracuse stepped up their game a bit in the second quarter. They might be able to play with UConn a little while. They are a gritty team! 43 - 31 Syracuse at the half

Washington did not look better than a 7 seed tonight. And Plum did not look anything like an All-American candidate tonight either.

Will Syracuse be able to hit shots the way they did tonight and get some offensive boards against UConn?

I think Syracuse will give Uconn a game. The coach and some of the players are familiar with Uconn. Also, their style of play is very effective playing zone and a full court press.

No, I don't think Syracuse will be able to play as well against UConn. They do play tenacious defense, so it might be entertaining to see how UConn handles it.

Samuelson is out with a broken foot, and she's been scoring a ton for UConn in the tournament. Syracuse might give UConn a close (er) game. They're a lot like us: swarming defense, lots of guards, depth...not as strong upfront, but more three point potential. They can score big time, which is a prerequisite for even having a chance against Connecticut. Right now they are HOT. Oregon St. just didn't have the speed or the depth to compete; Syracuse does. I'm not saying the odds are good they might win, just that they have the style and personnel that gives them a shot if UConn has a bad night.
