The Big 12 to me is considered 1 of the best conferences in the Nation. But in order for us as a conference, to get the stamp of approval. We must toughen up or Non- Conference Schedule. At the end of the day, cupcake teams will not get you to the Big Dance. I look at the Conferences Non Conference Schedule Records. It is Outstanding! But look at the teams that most of our teams played.I would like to give a Big Hookem' to Texas,Texas AM and Baylor. Great Non-Conference Schedules.Teams with great records. But who did they play. You must play at least 2 - 3 Top 25 teams, in order to try to gain a good RPI Rating.
Texas Tech 12 -1 wins against Pitt and Cal Not a Top 25 team.
Kansas 12 - 1 did not play a Top 25 team.
Iowa St. 11 - 2 - loss to No.6 W.Virginia 64 -53 add 1 more Top 25 team,and you are ok.
Okla St. 11 - 1 - loss No.3 Duke 73-45 But you got to compete though.
Nebraska 10-4 - loss to Louisville 65 - 51 and they are not ranked this year.
Oklahoma 10 - 3 - loss to No.20 Ohio St. 95 - 84
Surprise OU did not have a tougher schedule.
The Big 12 will be a battle!
Hookem'

without looking at who each of the other schools played, I would be curious whether any of the programs were teams that might have been ranked a few years back (when the contracts for the games would likely have been drafted)...

That being said, SOS/RPI for a lot of programs in the Big12 will be going up for as long as Baylor sits at the top of the heap...the UConn loss to Stanford may help the Big12 given what it did to the rankings.
