Cruises?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about vacation ideas. No one has replied - dammit! Anyhow, any thoughts on cruises - especially those that leave from Galveston?

took a Royal Carribean out of Galveston this summer on the Rhapsody of the Seas. It went to Key West, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman and was a week long. It was excellent.

Having all the food you can eat, including room service whenever you want it, is the ****. Not to mention, they have cheaper bottles of liquor on board than you can find here b/c of the dutie free..

There was a deal on orbitz recently for the above mentioned cruise for about $450 a person. Might want to check it out.

Reiterate the two above posts, the deals habe never been better to go to those three places in the Caribb.

I am curious about cruise clientele...I'm in my mid-20s and I am not interested in spending a week with a bunch of families with small children. Any cruise lines I should avoid? (other than the Big Red Boat)!

This may be too late for you, but we took one of the 5 day Carnival cruises out of Galveston last fall. We were actually going to spend time with my 2 year old before the second child was born, but there were not many kids on the boat. I certainly would have been comfortable in your age category. I think Carnival has a little more of a party reputation than the other line leaving Galveston. The food was good, the 24 hour pizza bar was awesome, the boat was a little dated, but clean, and the other passengers seemed to have a good time. It's on our list of things to do again sometime. If you have any specific questions, I'll answer a PM.
