Texas moves down to a 6 seed.

"What once looked like a season with Final Four aspirations took its worst possible blow with the season-ending injury to Nneka Enemkpali"

This slide started before losing Nneka. That has me even more worried. Teams have lost great players and still done great things but that has not been my experience with this program. We lost our swagger somewhere between the A&M game and the first Iowa loss. I wonder what happened during that timeframe. Any thoughts?

My thoughts WCBBNUT:

Bill Fennelly, coach of Iowa State, discovered the Longhorn's outside shooting weakness and prepared his team so well to clog the lane in a sagging zone that EVERYONE since then has copies and played Texas in a strict sagging zone defense.

Until the team makes opponents pay for playing a sagging zone, this will be what Texas will face the remainder of the season.

The Iowa State game was the first game that we shot 20-something percent in a half. I thought it was just a bad shooting half - heck we shot about 50% in the first half of that game. It's not that we weren't getting good shots in the second half of the Iowa State game (the first game), it's that they weren't going in. I thought it was just a bad shooting half, but it seems we have continued that trend, since that game. What is that? I'm not sure, but it surely will get you beat! I do agree that teams will play a sagging zone against us till we show we can hit midrange jumpers and 3's.
