so I had my capital one declined tonight at a restaurant and come to find out, some **** in kansas tried to use it at a home depot and wasn't able to b/c they didn't have that 3 digit code on the back. kansas? Wouldn't you need the actual card if it wasn't an online purchase?

I've never had this happen; ive heard of people losing their cards and this happening but I'm not sure how this is possible. good job capital one. at least hire someone who can speak english to try and help me in your fraud dept.

if your card number was compromised, they could have put your number on a card (w/ a card maker). or they could have got your number and tried to use it at a place where they knew someone.

got a call from my bank 2 months ago. someone in bulgaria was trying to use my card at an atm.

it's great that cards get blocked when there's fraudulent action, but they really need to notify the card member ASAP so you're not put in a weird situation where you get declined.

Well I was shopping for a new car, which one's me?
A cool convertible or an SUV.

Too bad I didn't know my credit was whacked,
cuz now I'm driving off the lot in a used sub-compact.

F-R-E-E, that spells "free," credit report dot com baby.
Saw their ads on my TV. Thought about goin' but was too lazy.

Now instead of lookin' fly and rollin' phat,
my legs are sticking to the vinyl and my posse's getting laughed at.

Seriously, contact Home Depot and thank them for their diligence in checking the card and the purchase. I purposely don't sign my card so that a store can ask for ID, which maybe 1 in 100 actually does. They just swipe it. When one does ask I thank them and tell them to keep it up, it's appreciated.

i write, "CHECK ID" on my cards... i still get 1 in 100 to actually ask for it.
