I wonder why this story isn't being distributed on more media outlets?

Of course it is possible there is more to the story

But after reading children being suspended for poptarts chewed into shape of a gun
or a kid having a keyring with a miniature rubber gun on it this story seems believable

This from the link seems pretty straightforward

I would think IF the Facebook entry had for instance a warning that she was going to come shoot up the school that would be been reported
but the principal says nothing about a threat, just the posting
What do you think could be missing?
 
I think its pretty far-fetched to believe that some random person would post a pic of their CHL on facebook and that some district employee would be stalking/trolling around to find it in order to get a resraining order against a random parent. Im guessing that there is a reason that the principal claims to be scared of the parent and that the restraining order has more to do with that than facebook. But, the school district probably won't be able to comment on that matter, allowing this probable nut job to go to the media and have them spout this nonsense.

This mother was not exactly some " random person" If you read the article she is a volunteer at the school

and if you read the quote from the principal she specifically attributes the no trespass order to the facebook posting.

If you hasn't said this was some random person I could see maybe the principal and the mother had had prior issues and the principal was using the facebook posting of the CHL license as a pretext to get back at the mother.

Please notice that the daughter is disabled and perhaps the mother had issues with the principal over how her daughter was treated.
But it does appear that the principal used the facebook posting to make life difficult for the Mother

Why didn't the principal speak to the mother?
 
No surprise here. PC on the rampage in this nation is the norm.

She is up at the school VOLUNTEERING. Do you call that starting trouble?
and since we don't have exact comments or who made the comments how do we even know she was starting ' stuff"



why are you willing to believe unknown comments made by unnamed people and not believe this Mother?

Does it say these PTO members were volunteers and that they volunteered in the same classroom?
does it say who these PTO members are?
There seems to be no problem naming the Mother. Why not name the accusers and exactly what they are accusing her of.

Would you larry T want to be accused of something and suspended based on unspecified accusations by unknown persons?

Until more info comes out all we have is a principal taking what with no other facts appears to be harsh action based on nameless people's say so.
 
In Larry's defense, he seems like he agrees with the ridiculousness of this discrimination...in fact it's so ridiculous that he's skeptical that these are all the facts and political correctness can be this extreme. His doubt might be mitigated if this were...New York instead of Georgia You could probably buy this happening there.

It's not like he supporting the principal.

I am not the one who called the Mother who volunteered " some random person" or " being up at the school starting stuff all the time."< I call that making judgments without the facts.
so yes let's reserve judgment on all accounts
 
I was throwing some of the endless possibities that could make this a reaonable decision by the school. I intended to leave this thread at my origional response which was that info seemed to be lacking. Posters wanted to know how I could possibly feel that there wasn't enough information to jump to the conclusion that the school isn't a bunch of gun hating socialists. I provided some of the possible scenarios, but I stand by my first post, which is that we don't have all the info. I think that this will all boil down to the threat that was made according to the principal and have very little to do with Facebook.

I reposted that quote, how is that casting aspersions?
Characterizing the merits of her statements?

I guess if by pointing she is saying unknown other PTO people told her the Mother would disrupt without saying how she disrupted classes is characterization then fine.

Notice we have no specific quotes or names of the people who are '"casting aspersions"
and please notice there is nothing mentioned about the teacher or teachers who surely were in the classrooms this " random person" disrupted.

Go back and reread my comments. I think/ hope you realize they were directed at the vagueness of the Principal's quotes.
But even if you don't then read the principal's direct quote again. She directly says she issued the trespass order over the Facebook post. A FB post that showed a pic of a CHL.

Calling a mother with a child in the school a "random person" and saying she " seems off by being at the school starting stuff all the time" ( seems off based on what?)actually fits the definition of casting aspersions far better than quoting someone directly.

Uh NO I am not assuming anything. The principal specifically said the no trespass order was issued because of the FB page AND she mentioned that other people said the Mother disrupted. She offered no exact quote or name of accuser.
Did the principal speak to the Mother? Did the principal ask about the accusations of disrupting the classroom> Did the principal speak to the teacher?

and if you read them again you notice I posted that there may be more to the story . My opinions are based on what is reported .

Would you like to be issued a No trespass order for your disabled child's school because unknown people accused you of being disrupting?

The Mother transferred her daughter to another school in the same district AND got her PTO volunteer card back.
