costco corned beef

I bought a 3.90 lb pack of this stuff for $12.90 and threw it in my slow cooker this morning. It might be some of the greatest corned beef I've ever had. Better than my grandmothers.

i have had mine soaking in brine for the last 10 days. tonight i cook it. i'll let yall know how it tastes. Must say im no expert on the taste of corned beef though


**** i never could find any saltpeter though so it want have that pink color it is supposed to. Damn those internet bomb making people.

eugene, I'm assuming your brining your own corned beef? I did that several years ago and it was awesome but similar to yours mine wasn't the red color.

Yeah im brining my own. From what i understand the saltpeter is what gives it the red or pink color.

I have the meat on the stove now. It smells WOW!

I think its pretty damn good. Like i said i dont really know what a good corned beef tastes like but mine is tasty.
If anyone is interested i used the Good Eats recipe.

what do you put on the sandwich?
