Cost of day trip: Cancun to Tulum

The gf and I are going to Cancun this weekend - 4 nights at the Riu Palace Las Americas. We're thinking of taking a day trip down to Tulum to see the ruins. How much should we expect to pay?

Also, the Riu Palace is near the NE "corner" of Cancun, anything of interest close to there? Is it worth going into Cancun proper? Or just stay at the beach?

I have no idea how much rides cost from cancun to tulum, but you can take a bus from playa del carmen to tulum for $2.

try contacting gray line. they run shuttles from cancun all over the mayan riviera, they might have something.

If you want to see ruins, go to Chichenitza. Tulum is relatively small compared. You will be able to take a taxi to either place, but you might try riding collectivos, as they are much cheaper.
