Was flipping channels to get primary election results Saturday and stopped for a minute to watch him tout his recently published book United: Thoughts on Finding Common Ground and Advancing the Common Good. I have to say, what he said sounded so honest, compassionate and practical that I stopped channel surfing for a couple of minutes. What he said contrasted sharply in a positive way with the banal, cynical, self-serving, partially honest things coming out of the mouths of presidential contenders.

Election year political communications seems squarely aimed at the lowest common denominator.

if a pol is from NY or NJ he is guaranteed to be corrupt. No use in paying any attention to them because they are corrupt. And those yankees dump on the swine we elect and belittle Texas politics.

Nobody from NY or NJ has been honest since Woodrow Wilson and he was disgraceful in his own way

you have a side that is openly ignoring the law with respect to one candidate who would be in jail if she were anyone else. (and might still if reality ensues) that is the lowest common denominator possible. It doesn't get any lower short of openly murdering your opponent like in Venezuela.

Trump while certainly not perfect, far from it, is better than more of the same from the Democrats selectively prosecuting .

I believe the victim.

"through the transitive properties of unsupported claims, we can only assume that this allegation is "serious" and "credible" - words recently used by Booker to describe similarly unfounded accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh

I recall him encouraging Democrats to “get up in the face of some congresspeople” or something to that effect. Sounds like another Democrat partisan hack to me.

The accuser is a gay liberal which gives him some credibility. Clearly not driven by political differences. This is such poetic justice. Will be funny to hear Booker expect the same due process that he aggressively sought to deny Justice Kavanaugh. He should immediately demand an FBI investigation into this charge and not seek any public office until his political opponents are satisfied with the findings.

I think the Democrat response goes something like this, "If you wave a $100 bill in the trailer park there is no telling who comes out of the woodwork."

Are you sure the accuser wasn't Kamala Harris, identifying as a gay liberal man that day?

As a straight white male I would hate to place any artificial limitations on her sexuality.
Are you just identifying as a straight white male so you can take advantage of white privileges unavailable to others?

The victim needs to lawyer up. I'll bet Avenatti is willing to work both sides of the political spectrum, as long as there's blood money to be had.

No, not since he is testing the waters for a run at the D nomination for POTUS.

Plus, he is broke and getting sued almost daily by creditors, landlords, former partners, etc. I'd say his plate is pretty full right now.

Avenatti won't take it, because there probably isn't any money in it, and it would ruin his political career. Lawyers don't take these kinds of cases for money directly but for publicity (free advertising). Avenatti doesn't need publicity. He needs quick cash. He needs to hustle some car wreck cases.
