Cops on Mopac

ok... so for the last week or so, there have been empty police cars in the median at far west and mopac.... But last night, I think that I saw people in the cars. Anyone have info ?

It is the end of the month so they are probably trying to fill some quotas. They have got traffic trained that the cars are empty so you speed past them and then there is actually someone in the car. This, or I have also heard that they put dummies in the cars to look like someone is in there to make you slow down.

I don't go more than 5mph over the limit, so no worries.

I think they're just trying to get people to slow down by parking the empty squad car in the median.

They were doing this about a month or so ago in the Mopac and SW parkway/290 area. Although before and after that point there were motorcylce cops pretty regularly.

One morning (end of June I believe) on MoPac bewteen Slaughter Lane and Enfield, I counted at least a dozen traffic cops gunning people. There was a cop like every mile. They were everywhere. Traffic was a ******* ***** that day with everyone slamming on their brakes.

Have you heard about them desguising themselves as survyers at construction zones? They look just like them, but it's a laser gun sitting on the tripod, and they radio to moto cops on the other side of the hill/bend/turn whatever to pull you over. Cheecky basterds!

I've been lots of places, and Austin cops are the worst. I love when they sit in the turn lane on Guadalupe and look for the criminals that have expired inspection stickers.
