going to be in London and have a chance for a 4-day excursion before heading home. The 3 places above are all about 2 hours away and haven't been to any of them. Recommendations?

Denmark, you and I have discussed Copenhagen before. I imagine I know your selection, but would enjoy hearing from you again.

Barcelona and Copenhagen have some of the best looking women in all of Europe.

Kind of depends on what you are looking for really. Denmark and Spain are pretty different. However, both Copenhagen and Barcelona have very famous walking streets, Storget and Las Ramblas. Definite people watching cities in the summer time and both are have a lively nightlife.

Barcelona wins as far as architecture and food, but Copenhagen is more quaint and self contained, less sprawling metropolis. Everyone in Copenhagen speaks english, which may make it easier to meet people, if so inclined.

I have not been to Madrid.

Hey Horn69,

I never go to this site, but I had to ask a question, and ran on to your question.

When are you coming?

PM if you decide to do so. Yoladu had good insight. Never been to Barcelona or Madrid, but it sounded good. I'll be gone 30.6 - 14.7.

Thanks Denmark for the snub - that's when I'm going to be there.

Actually we decided to go to Brugge - chocolate, lace and dark beer. Brugge actually seems like a smaller Copenhagen.

One of these days...

My wife lived in Belgium when she was school age. Mainly in Brussels, but I've heard many good stories of Brügge as they say in Danish. I think you made a great choice, also since I won't be here. We'll be in Greece, if it's still above water.

I was in Brussels twice last year for the first time ever, and loved it. Brügge is a lot more quaint. If you like to bike, then it should be even more fun.

Cheers

Copenhagen FTW. Love all of these cities but the Denmark is our favorite European destination; the people are great and laid back, it is clean and friendly, and there is no better scenery, if you know what I mean. Favorite Copenhagen moment: when we were at a Copenhagen restaurant and the waitress took my 7-month pregnant wife upstairs to tour the herring buffet. I have never actualy seen a human literally turn green until that moment. Stick with the smorebrod, my friend.

Brugge is fantastic, but I think 4 days there is a bit much. I'd suggest taking a day trip or two (depending on how much you like brugge) to Ghent, Antwerp, or some other cities in the area. Also consider renting a car for a day and go visit some small towns along the coast - driving over there is very very easy.
