First Time Poster
We had a reservation for six for 8:30 PM after the Oklahoma State game for Cool River Cafe on Parmer Lane. We arrived on time, but had to wait in the bar while our table was "menued". We finally were shown to our table just before 9:00 PM. We were served the appetizers we ordered (the black bean salsa and seafood empanadas were good), and were then ignored for almost an hour. One of the wait staff tried to take the bread and butter off our table, but we wanted to keep it in case our dinners were ever served. Our waiter came back eventually and asked if we wanted dessert. We suggested we be served dinner first.
A couple of minutes later we were served. I have eaten a steak or two in my life and can tell the difference between the medium rare prime rib I ordered and the cold, RAW prime rib put in front of me. My wife ordered her prime rib cooked medium, but was served something more closely resembling a Cajun blackened steak. The rest of our party also had problems with their orders, particularly with the grilled shrimp being cold.
We asked to speak to the manager and even that took a few minutes. We explained that we had waited for over an hour for our food and then were served totally unacceptable dinners. He suggested we clear the table and start all over again. With it now being close to 10:00 PM (we were hungry when we arrived at 8:30), we told him that was not enough. He proposed giving us some coupons so we'd get a discount the next time we ate there, but we walked out. I do not need any coupons to a place where I will never go back.
