in 1966 looking east down 183 towards the interstate.. Man how this area has changed.. Look at how isolated Burnet road was then! I believe it's the road in the distance..

Actually, Mopac was not built until 10 years after that pic was taken. That's probably the north part of old Balcones Drive.

When I was a kid, we would drive out to the Balcones / 183 exchange to pop fireworks because it was outside the city limits.

The big building complex right above (east) of the interchange was the old Glastron boat factory.
