Convert old laptop to mp3 jukebox?

Want to cannibalize my old Inspiron and throw in a big hard drive and make a jukebox out of it. Seems feasible but wondered if anyone here had done it.

Have some questions about connections and so forth. This is a 99 computer and only has one USB 1.0 port and not a lot of other connections on the box.

Also questions about software etc.

Thoughts?

Does it have a wireless card? You would not need big HD then; you could just link it to your home PC. All you really have to do is just hook the audio out to your receiver.

You should google Audio Front Ends for some programs. Xlobby is a good free one.

yeah, I would go with the wireless card if you have a home pc. Laptop hdd's are expensive. You could also get a usb sound card that would have digital out for sound.

What I do is : I have a xbox with a mod chip, and have a sw program on it called xbox media player. I can connect to the xbox over the wireless network on my laptop and control the media player from a internet browser.
