Does anyone here have contact info for admins, coaches, facility/events directors over at the Disch ? Specifically email ?
Here is my gripe ... chime in on whether or not it's a valid one.
My group tailgates directly behind the left field foul pole, across the street from the outfield fence. With the new design of the stadium, you can see roughly 50% of the field from our spot. From the foul pole to the left field gates the fence is chain link. We all have tickets, but Friday most of us decided to watch the majority of the action from lawn chairs across the street, beer in hand. It was awesome.
So we roll out to the park about 9 am Saturday, per usual, and what do we see ? The Texas grounds crew installing a ******* plastic tarp over the fence, to prevent people from seeing into the game. WTF ??
Now before you say, stop free-loading, you can't expect to watch from across the street, consider the following :
#1 As mentioned before, we all have tickets.
#2 If you DON'T want people watching from the lot, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DESIGN YOUR NEW STADIUM IN SUCH A WAY THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ?
If they don't want to potentially lose out on ticket sales, then fine, good gripe by the University ... but did they really not think of this when putting together the drafts/sketches prior to construction ?
Look at this ******* sketch released by UT when the renovations were announced ... it shows people on the sidewalk looking into the game. Jesus !!
You spend millions on a new renovation, then 8 games in place plastic bags over a fence to stop people from watching from the street. Talk about an eye-sore on an otherwise great stadium.
So, please shoot me any info you may have. I'd like to request the tarps to come down, or at least get their explanation for the design.
Thanks.
